No remorse - IW vs Krieg display base finished

Good Mornin everyone! I ve just finished this lovely piece of plastic today morning. In fact the miniatures themselves were finished 6 hours after i posted first wip pictures but i ve been playing with base whole yesterday. Waiting for white glue dry, then waiting for onetime spackling whitch i used for snow to dry(awesome product from red devil company). Then again waiting for blood and gore made from mix of scarlet red, burnt umber and UHU glue to dry properly, so as you can see i ve been waitng a lot;-) In the time between of all the drying i had few tasty hamburgers and today morning i ve just added few last details like icicles and so.
Terminator is like the last one i ve built magnetized for all weapon options and attached to base by magnets as well, so i can put him on a gaming base if desired easily. Originaly i ve been planing this piece with storm bolter in one hand and chainfist in another as i tought it would be nice stylish tool for this scene but after i tried how power axe looks i knew its cold, brutal look looks much better and adds more brutal atmospehre to the piece than futuristic weapon like chainfist. However im glad i have all weapon options prepared by side as i can switch them if needed. In fact im switching them a lot just playing with the miniature on the table time to time and with previevous terminator i cought my self playing with the model for about hour while doing "pew pew" on my guardsmen;-)

Speedpainted Krieg Quartermaster

Hello everyone! Another quick update about whats happening on my desk. I painted this piece during the week to try if i remembered anythink from speedpainting dvd from miniature mentor. I must say the techinque i saw on the video is really easy to use if you remember to thin your paint a lot and use biger than fine detail brush for bigger surfaces as well. This was different approach than i ussualy chose for painting miniatures and even with ressult nowhere near perfection i think im on a good way to improve my miniature painting at least by little bit. The trick was to undercoat miniature with black undercoat and then highlight it with white color spraying from directly above of the model. Doing these two steps as a preparation really makes painting and shading much easier. Then its just about painting with very diluted paints and as you know the paint ll cover white parts just fine while beeing semitransparent on the black undercoated surface creating nicely shaded impression. Of course just this is not enought to create effect you see on the photo and you have to apply some more highlights but i think its easy and effective way how to achieve solid shadining. I know the ressult is just humble table top quality, but it was just a first try and i hope i ll get better at using this procedure in next few miniatures as models on that tutorial video looked just awesome and i recommend buying it if you are at about same level with painting as i am and you are willing to improve yourself, its worth your money.
Next week ll be quite bussy as i have package with devil dog, leman russ and chimera waiting for me at the post office so i ll keep updating blog daily as i need painted them all for next saturady minitournament in our local gaming club. Thanks for reading guys!

Krieg commissar death rider

Hi all again! Today im gonna show you another krieg commissar i ve been working on past couple of days. I was given oportunity to paint this guy by friend of mine whos much more gamer than painter and when he asked me if i want to paint this mini for him i agreed with excitement.(i still dont know why he asked me as i think he paints to simmillar level as i am if he wants). However excitement evaporated slightly when i unpacked the model, it was obvious this was home made copy of original model but to pretty hight level comparable to what forge world dare to supply us losers in mid europe. Im not fan of counter fitted models but i knew what is this going be like so i started cleaning mold lines. Major disapointment came from material used, i never worked with that fragile material. Parts were broking under just little pressure, especialy thick horse legs so there was a lot of fixing and some parts could not be cleaned at all as under pressure crackles started appearing all around the mold line. One more surprise poped up while final assembling as i found front right leg is missing its upper part so i had to resculpt part of it but most of missing material was from the inside side so that was not a big deal. I did my best while painting this one, tried some blending on horse muscles however this was my first time painting horse si it did not ended as well as i could imagine but im quite satisfied with some parts, especialy muscles on neck came out exactly as i imagined, however i still need a lot of practice. Commisar was painted same way as my last one except quality of cast was not that high so i did not enjoyed it as much. I based it on to pretty big base and used most of my tree bark supply so i ll have to go again to the woods to ressuply but we decided to go for big base as this mini is probably going to sit in display cabinet forever, overwatching rest of my friends kriegs army. I enjoyed working on this as i did not rushed through him, i painted him for about four days, every day for about an hour so this was relaxing piece. As i dont like fake models its a pitty producer of this did not used better material as this is pretty fragile and i can not imagine his product ever becoming gaming piece as its probably going to break in to thousand of pieces after couple of games. I dont know whats going to be next model i ll share with you, probably dreadnought, however im still not decided if i ll do a standart space marine dread in imperial fists colours, or death company furioso one...and to make my decision even harder i have oportunity to buy second hand unpainted fw chaplain dreadnaught:-/ Have plans to start flames of war german paratroopers army next month as im pretty excited about new edition of fow rules and as another side project is probably going to be infinity gang as i ve been stunned by few models recently:-o  However i have last month of painting left for side/shelf pieces as i must add more tanks to my imperial guard army, so see you soon and hope you like now showcased commissar!

Revising old pieces

Hi all again, as i wanted to test my new toy once more i decided to do a showcase vid for few models i did while ago. Now you can check commander Erich Sturm whitch was painted for upcoming allready mentioned campaign, two other pieces from cadian command squad and krieg commissar whitch was a big surprise for me and realy enjoyed painting him so much that i had rushed through him during one evening. These pieces are nothing new, but i think u might be interested how they looks captured from all angles as clasical static picture is somehow lacking atmosphere while vid can make thinkgs a lot more interesting. Enjoy and see you soon as i have another krieg commisar on my desk, but now riding horse and even i had problems with assembly and had to resculp half of his leg im really looking forward to finish him as soon as i ll have couple of hours of free time. Unexpected mini

Hello everyone, i just finised painting unexpected mini this morning and im here to share the results with you. I ve got this krieg commissar yesterday when i visited friend of mine and while smoking my second cigarete by coffe he asked me if i want krieg commissar for my collection as hes got one he ll not need for his fresly started army. Of course i agreed and for cheaper price than box of cigaretes i been sudenly rushing home to undercoat the mini. I bought second hand cthan nightbringer in terible condition as well, but thats another story. I tried my best while painting this piece and mini came out pretty well. Of course there is still room for tons of improvements but i like mini how is it....hope this feeling ll last at least till tommorow when i ll probably rework its base. But i think i improved my figure painting a bit since my last mini so its beginig to look like all the hard work finaly starts to bring the ressults.

With basecoated cthan on my desk i feel like finishing my small imperial guard army ll be delayed a little but if nothing these two pieces ll bring some variety to my painting diary and im really looking forward to paint nightbringer as it is ideal piece to practice painting black and blending. I always wanted him for my sisplay but i did not wanted to pay full price just for a piece to practice cloth painting on so yesterday discounted offer realy came handy and deciding was quick as drawing my vallet out of its pocket.  Hope i ll be be able to bring him at least to tabletop quality to dare sharing the ressult with you. So wish me luck and steady hand with next piece as i ll definitely need it and see you by next piece.
