wow, on the gw blog again!

Hi again guys, i ve just accidentaly found out another of my models made it to the pages of gw blog. I ve just wanted to watch alien movie to continue prometheus experience from friday and then i realized i did not checked gw pages for a while. Im pretty surprised they chose my model as it was first piece i ve painted using airbrush, but if bw blog editor likes it, then why not?;-) It reminds me i ll have to build few ig pieces again, to see if i improved my self at least a little and ll be able to use new experience i ve got while painting necrons on ig stuff, but still, with 6ed around the corner i dont want to spend money on model i ll not play becouse of rulles changes. Have to wait for couple more weeks and then i ll start working on my ig again. Maybe its time to read another part of Gaunt ghosts to get some extra motivation;-) Till then i ll continue working on fow army, today i painted mortar platoon and have to finish bases for them and next month i ll probably add tiger tank to have army rdy for 1500 points games and by then there should be new 40k rulles allready in stores. Thanks for reading and support guys, see you soon!

FoW Fallschirmjäger army growing

Hi again guys! Im back with just a quick update about my german paratroopers army. I think i mentioned it allready, but last weekend i ve played my first flames of war game. It was just low points game with basic fallschirmjager platoon box but i really enjoyed it. Gameplay is fast, dynamic a seems realistic as well so i ve decided to paint addition to my still really small force. Just finished 7.5cm PaK40 anti tank guns to add some firepower for my paratroopers. As you can see from the pictures im really speedpainting through these 15mm tall dudes as im not building this for display shelf but just for gaming in our local wargaming club. I hope you are not insulted by non 40k related post, but go and check flames of war youtube channel and their series of boot camp videos, they realy cought my attention and i wanted to try this game out after i watched few of them. For others, dont worry, 40K 6ed is around the corner and im pretty shure it ll bring my attention back to 28mm scale and painting. Thanks for reading and have a nice weekend!

Necron overlord and army showcase done

Hi again everyone! With the HQ choice finished, im glad i can say i ve just finished my combat patrol necron army. I kept painting as simple as with my warriors and immortals, just payed a little more attention to details. I know the base would need a little more polishing but as i ve said in my last post, im exhausted by necrons right now and im glad i can put them to the display shelf right now.
I quite enjoyed painting necron miniatures, even the warriors as they gave me oportunity to try my first attempts at color blending on their cables and i think i started understanding how blending works but it ll still takes a lot more minis till i ll feel comfortable with this technique, but i think thats what i enjoy on miniature painting as it reminds me learning curve i had to climb with guitar playing;-) However vehicles were another story, i failed horibly on them and they just did not suited me and were exact oposite to imperial guard vehicles where i dont enjoy painting infantry much, but ll probably never get bored by painting leman russ or valkyrie. However its up to you to judge my necrons and let me know how do you like them. So i would like to thank you for reading and i hope i ll handle future projects much better than this one. See you!;-)

Annihilation barge - necron project closing to end

Im glad i can say hi again!;-) After week of slacking around i started working on necron annihilation barge on friday evening. Well i decided to give clasical colour theme one more try. I did not wanted to use straith black on the model so i mixed black with scorp. green about 4/1 for black to give the model slight green tone. I was afraid how it ll turn out, but in the end im glad i did it as i like it much more than pure black i used when painting ghost ark. Rest of painting was pretty straightforward. Main gun was basecoated with wma steel and then it received coats of black and then sephia wash. And glow effect was done with scorpion green again. I failed horribly when trying to create illusion of glowing surface as i added to much of paint so i have to remember for next time the less is more. As you can see on the picture i tryied to fix this error but i was to lazzy to mask everything else than vertical "wing" with masking tape ande rework it completely i just took my basecoat mix diluted it with water and applied it to the areas i wanted to darken with brush. Well it really darkened the model but left few nasty brush strokes around the model. Otherwise im happy with the model, its not my best piece but it looks well on the gaming table. Necron vehicles in general did not suit my paint style so i decided to call an end to my necron project at this stage. I have to finish base for necron overlord i ve been working on as well and do six scarab swarm bases and that ll be it. I ll have enought models to play patrol or kill team games in my kitchen. I might reworg that messed wing on annihilation barge later, maybe i ll add new wraiths as i really like the models but i think i need some rest from 40K right now. At least till the new edition release when i ll paint new starter set for shure and then i ll start working on my imperial guard again. Till then i ll probably be painting flames of war models i allready have as i ve tried first game of fow this weekend and i must say i really liked it. So i hope you are not disgusted by my latest paint job and see you by next post where i ll probably showcase my finished necrons as whole. Thanks for reading and see you!

Moar silver skeletons! - necron sprint continues

Hi all! Finally finished ghost ark and immortals. Ghost ark was a sad story and its hopefuly sold allready(waiting for money transfer confirmation)as i did not managed to save model. I should have stayed with originaly planned white colour scheme for necron vehicles, but i dont remember why, i ve just came from work on monday evening and oversprayed whole model with black paint....i know, it sounds werid, but time to time i just do werid things and cant explain why.
Immortals are another story, i enjoyed painting same as necron warriors. Maybe even more as they gave me oportunity to practice blanding on their anal cables;-) Dont have much more to say as i ve painted them same way as warriors.I hope you like them more than ruined ghost ark and see you by next article, it ll probably be showcase of finished necrons i have on the shelf or necron anihilation barge as my small skeleton army needs hq choice and some more firepower to succeed in patrol games;-) Thanks for reading guys and see you!
